PHHS TRAINING

SEIDA Conducts PHHS Training for Agricultural Staff in Nzega

The Social and Economic Development Initiatives of Tanzania (SEIDA) recently organized a comprehensive Post-Harvest Handling and Storage (PHHS) training for agricultural staff at Ashoork Hall in Nzega. This initiative is part of the Vijana Kilimo Biashara (VKB) project, which operates in the Shinyanga and Tabora regions.

The training aimed to equip agricultural staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to train lead farmers and extension officers. These trained individuals will, in turn, educate fellow farmers in their respective areas on best practices for post-harvest handling and storage.

The PHHS training covered various topics, including proper harvesting techniques, drying methods, storage solutions, and pest management. By enhancing the capacity of agricultural staff, SEIDA aims to reduce post-harvest losses and improve food security in the targeted regions.

This training is a significant step towards achieving the objectives of the VKB project, which focuses on empowering youth and promoting sustainable agricultural practices in Tanzania.
